What Scars are in your Life?

I would like you to watch the music video below before you read the post.

Do you have scars in your life? Do you try to hide them or do you try to forget about them? If you’re a Christian, your scars can be a good thing. Scars remind us where we have been and if you’re a Christian it remind us what He has brought us through. Sometimes we need that reminder. This music video I believe is painting a picture of where we have been through thick and thin. But the song’s writers are thankful for their scars because it brought them to Jesus. They are standing in Jesus’ confidence because of His faithfulness to them. With the reminders of their scars, they remember how Jesus delivered them.

In the verse that says, “Darkest water and deepest pain, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” Jesus will be with you even in the deepest, darkest part of your life. It doesn’t matter where you are, He will be with you. In Psalm 23:1-4, the Bible says, Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul, He guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. You see, when you walk with Jesus, He will never leave you no mater where you have been. When the verse says, “I wouldn’t trade it for anything” what does that mean? It means that if you are a Christian, even through the deepest pain or the darkest past, your scars will remind you where you have been and how Jesus brought you through what your scars represents. You may be saying, but you don’t know what my scars represent, Jesus could never love me. I am here to tell you, you are so wrong. Jesus does love you so much that He died for you. It doesn’t matter what you have done or where you have been. If you are a Christian and your scars remind you of things you rather would forget, ask Jesus to make something beautiful out of your scars. If you are not saved, ask Jesus into your life and He can transform your scars into something wonderful. If you would like to learn more about getting saved, click here. You may have to live with those scars for the rest of your life, but they will remind you where you came from.

The last part of the song says, “I’m thankful for the scars ‘Cause without them I wouldn’t know your heart.” Why would we be thankful for our scars? Because without our scars, it would be easy to forget how we were living. Again, if you are saved you should celebrate your scars because Jesus washed the stain of those scars away. But what if you are not saved? Are you thinking that you are not worthy of Jesus’ love or even His time. Let me ask you this, who woke you up this morning, who protected you while you slept, and who gives you the air you breath? Jesus is the answer to all three questions. That’s where the last part comes in, without the scars in life, you wouldn’t know Jesus. I remember hearing a message, the pastor said, “it takes intervention on Jesus’ part, for you to want to know Him at all.” That’s awesome. I have a question for you, are there any scars in your life that Jesus may be using to get your attention?
